Barn 5 has been converted and furnished to the highest of standards.
Built in traditional Norfolk brick and flint and finished with contemporary style this spacious property is ideal for fun family getaways during the school holidays but is equally suitable for couples who want more space than a traditional one bedroom cottage can offer! The outside space invites for play in the adjoining meadow or lunch on the terrace; inside, the property offers many amenities to enjoy evenings of invigorating conversation or family games in front of the fire place or at the dinner table.
On the first floor, the open plan living room with natural oak wood flooring includes some wonderful gadgets like a second generation Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay wireless speaker system, an AEG integrated coffee machine, large American fridge freezer with ice and cold water dispenser, and the all important (whopping) wine fridge. Barn 5 really has all the kit one could possibly wish for!
The high ceilings give a sense of space and liveliness during the daytime. As the day comes to an end, the LED lighting system quickly converts the ambiance into a more intimate area.
The kitchen is a cook’s dream, at the centre of which is the Rangemaster cooker with 5 induction plates, a dedicated grill oven, and two further ovens. There is also a separate microwave grill for the more practically minded.
With the living area being on the first floor, there are outstanding open views over the fields and glimpses of the sea from the Juliet balcony in the sitting room.
On the ground floor, the bedrooms offer something for everyone: a large King-size bedroom with an en-suite showeroom and views over the meadow is complemented by a double bedroom with two single beds and a children’s room with a bunk bed. The latter two share a bathroom with a bathtub.
A TV and family room downstairs offers a Pioneer 42 inch plasma TV (widely considered the best TV ever built), a BluRay/DVD player, and Apple TV pre-loaded with many movies and TV box sets. This room can be converted into a temporary King-size bedroom with a 14 inch mattress for friends that decide to stay overnight.
The 50’s style furniture throughout is stylishly accentuated by hand selected antiques and reclaims, and the large south facing double window brings in the bright sun throughout the day.
Barn 5 sits among a tasteful collection of cottages and barn conversions on the old ‘Langham Glass’ site just about a mile from the North Norfolk coast at Morston and Blakeney. The house has two dedicated parking spaces and offers direct access to a lovely meadow to the rear that is full of seasonal wild flowers.
All in all, Barn 5 is a fantastic property in a lovely spot!
